Gifts and Opportunities
As I continue to work on my WIP, a scene from the first book in the series has captured my thoughts. It reminded me of an event in my life. It reminded me to continue in my purpose.
The scene shows the main character, Justice, sharing an item with her friend. The person who gave it to her, Terrance, looked at her thinking. "I gave that to you." She shared something that was for her only.
Many of us do this as well. That includes me. Sometimes gifts and opportunities are created for you and you only. Everyone is not meant to come along. Time and familial relationships do not matter. While you try to include people in something that is meant for you and you alone, they will destroy and/or disturb your opportunity.
It is okay to move forward solo. Your gift is your gift. Their gift is their gift. The Most High knows who will sink your ship and who will work to keep it afloat. Lean on Him and He will guide you.
Excerpt
At one point, he notices Justice keeps rubbing her hands together. He remembers that he has hand warmers warming his hands under his gloves. He takes one out and hands it to Justice. She looks at it and asks, “What is that?”
He chuckles and says, “It is a hand warmer. My friend uses them when he’s playing a football game in a cold climate. I see you keep rubbing your hands together and assumed they are cold.” .
She smiles as she takes it and says, “Yea, my hands are cold, thanks.”
“You are welcome.”
She rubs the hand warmer in between her hands and says, in a shocked voice, “Wow, it works.”
He smiles. She looks at Kellie and says, “Here.” She hands Kellie the hand warmer and continues, “You have to try this.” .
Terrance continues to smile, but looks at Justice thinking, “I gave that to you angel.”
