The Strength of Love 🤎Zion Brew🤎
As I read an excerpt from my novel, Justice:The
Stranger I Loved, it reminded me of how strong the emotion love is. That emotion has the power to heal or break a heart. It can put a smile on someone's face in the midst of a storm. Sadly, the lost of it can wipe a smile away on a sunny day. Terrance experienced that lost, but he recovered it when he met Justice. His painful childhood does not hurt as bad with Justice in his life. All he needs from her is love and he gives her that and more. Matthew 22:34-40(kjv), echoes in my mind as I write this. It reminds me that love can overcome any battle. As we enjoy our day, we must remember to walk in love. Love Christ first and everything else will fall into place. Like dominoes standing in formation, once you knock one over, the others follow suit. Once you love Christ, The Most High, you will love yourself and others properly.
1Corinthians 13:3-8 KJV And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing. Justice:The Stranger I Loved *Conversation with Ked and Chad* ⚖
"...He purchased the ring a week later. As he sits, staring at it, he snaps a picture of it. He text messages it to his friend, Ked, and to Chad. Chad replies quickly saying, "Why in the hell are you texting me an engagement ring?????" Terrance laughs as he responds, "It is for Justice. I am going to propose to her today. Do you think she will like it?" Chad replies, "Daaaaaang, already??? You just started dating my cousin." "I know, but I love her. She loves me too. You know I will do right by her. But, what do you think about the ring?" "The ring is nice. Terrance, I am saying this the most respectful way I can. Do not make me or my uncle have to put these paws on you. If you two make it to the alter, she will be your one and only for the rest of your life. I do not want to hear no cheating rumors." "You will not. Cheat for what? I will not ride the subway when I have a Rolls-Royce." "Yea, yea, I hear you. But what if the Rolls-Royce breaks down?" "Marriage is for better or worse. I will walk as it is repaired. Chad, I adore Justice. I love her." "Alright, 'Mr. Lover Man', good luck." "Thanks Chad." As he ends their conversation, his friend responds. "Teeeeeeeeeee, you ready to take that plunge????" Terrance holds his stomach as laughter leaves his body. He stops laughing and responds, "Ked, I am. What do you think about the ring?" "It is nice. From what you have told me about her, she will love it. When are you proposing?" "Hopefully, in a few hours. I asked her to stop by so we can chill. But I will drive us to the beach, and that is where I want to propose." "Okay man. A lady has finally captured my friend's heart. I am happy for you. You deserve this. She seems like a sweet lady. I can't wait to meet her." "Thanks and she is. I need you two to meet. You will be my best man." "Yep. Keep me posted. I will have a new number too. I will text it to you when I get it." "A new number????? Why? This is your permanent phone. You get prepaid phones for the drifters." "I know, but I had some sudden changes. It is not a big deal. But, I have to go. I will talk to you later." Terrance stares at his cell phone. He reads the response three times before he responds. Finally, he replies, "Ked, is everything okay? Are you in Baltimore?" "Everything is fine. Talk to you later." "Alright man. Stay safe, bye." Ked never responds. Terrance reads over their text conversation trying to read between the lines. He is not able to, but saves their conversation.
